Try using simulation to make people understand what you do. You only have to look at the addiction of Tamagotchi amongst kids to comprehend the power of simulation.
At Oxfam we put people through the simulation of living in a refugee camp, and sleeping refugee shelters.
There are now on line simulations popping up. Student Survivor simulates what its like to be a student coping with debt and has had over 1 million visitors. ‘Dafur is dying’ is a simulation about living in a camp in Sudan. It’s quite hard hitting.
But neither of these two simulations offer me the opportunity to give. So how could you simulate an aspect of your cause and use it as a platform to ask people to give?
