Chess is only second to football as the world’s most popular sport (the English Chess Federation considers chess a sport). Apparently one statistic claims 380 million people will have played chess at least once in the last month. There are new online chess communities springing up every month, chess.com, chess.net, chesspark.com, chess club.com. The question is why do you never hear of mass participation charity chess matches when so many people play it?
